Help please with a printer/scanner

Hey everyone!

I have a HP Deskjet f4280 and everything was fine untill i needed to change my ink, now i cant get it to work! i only have the black cartridge not the colour one, but i was hoping i could still use my scanner, but no its not letting me use the scanner either, any ideas would be appreciated

Ok so.. It was working.. You changed your ink.. And now.. What happens when you click print????

Probably silly but hope you installed the correct ink cartridge

hi

hey yeah i put the correct ink in and im positive it is in right!

it just keeps flashing! i press print and it flashes i press scan and it flashes!


im not as bothered about the printer at the moment just wanted to use the scanner!

Go to Printers and Faxes

Right click on your printer

Go to properties

Services

Perform the two maintenance tasks there - Aligning and cleaning.

Hello Katie and welcome to SevenForums.

The lights are blinking because your device has noticed there's something wrong or missing. Did you throw your used color cartridge away? You could try a fix by inserting your used color cartridge. Blinking should stop and you should be able to scan until you can replace the cartridge with a new one. Works with HP Photosmarts, should work with HP Deskjet.

i went to printers on the control panel and there is no service part.


and regarding the color cartridge i have lost it so im unable to do that

Then you'll need to get a new color cartridge in there, or else force the printer to ignore the error message so you can use it.

And for future reference, don't throw away the old until the new one is in there.
