Help with my 480

Which slot in your motherboard do you have it? Only thing I can think of at the moment is you have it connected to an x8 PCI-E slot and not an x16 slot. Is it in the slot closest to your processor?

And don't worry about overclocking your processor, it's fine really as it is.

Funny you should say that Everlong, i have a Gigabyte GA-P55M-UD2 mobo, when i first bought this mobo and built my system with the 4870 it just kept crashing, i made a post on these forums about it a while back http://www.sevenforums.com/graphic-cards/38277-windows-7-radeon-hd-5770-a-2.html

I tried everything to fix it at the time, first i sent the card back only to be told after thay ran it for 24h it was fine, then i upgraded the Psu thinking there was a power problem as i had a budget 700w at the time, then i upgraded my case thinking it might be heat but nothing i did fixed the crashes i was getting at the time.
Anyway to cut a long story short one day i just thought what will happen if i change the card to the second slot on my mobo, after doing so the whole thing ran fine i had no crashes for week's, so i contacted Gigabyte and after telling them i had updated the Bios and all the drivers thay said this:

No definite answers for you I’m afraid. It's one of those cases that would need to be physically checked.
Please return to your dealer for 2nd opinion or RMA. Sorry for any inconvenience.

So to Awnser your question Everlong, yes the card in in the 2nd slot not the one closest to the processor as my 4870 used to crash in that slot and i thought the 480 would do the same, on this mobo both slots are the same tho i think anyway this is the description from the dealer:

You've solved your problem right there... The second PCI slot, the one you had the card running in was(is) x4 bandwidth, rather than the full x16 that a 480 needs. I.E. your GTX 480 was communicating with the rest of your PC at a quarter of the speed it's supposed to.
