Solved Help with RAM plz

I already have 4gb of ram on my computer and want to install 8gb, do I get rid of the previous ram and install the new 8gb?

It's always best to install ram in matched sets.
Matched sets of ram have been tested to work together without problems.

I always by ram in matched sets.
So yes If was my computer I would remove the ram you have and install a matched set of 8 gigs.

As layback bear has stated, ram should always be installed in matching pairs, simply because you will get a slight edge over unmatched pairs when it comes to speed, and can sleep well knowing they won't explode anytime
