So, earlier today I was syncing my iTouch and it went fine although there was a pop up saying that "you do not have enough priveleges so files aren't being saved".

Hours later upon returning home, I found out that my library in iTunes is automatically wiped out. Prior to this, I wanted to do a system restore. There were two points. One in the last two days, and one dating back to the 6th. I was thinking maybe there was some twitch whereever that caused iTunes to behave that way.

Upon restoring, and after restarting automatically a pop up appeared saying that the System Restore wasn't complete due to something which they didn't tell.
Here's the error code
(0x80070057)

I was wondering, what went wrong ?
and what can I do to make it right ?

Hi,

I found this article...

There can be many reasons for System Restore not to work.

1. If using Norton, disable it before using System Restore.
Norton will interfere with System restore.

2. Try using System Restore in Safe Mode:

Restore Point:

Try tapping F8 at startup, and from the list of startup selections, select Safe Mode by using UP Arrow Key to go there > then hit Enter.

Try a System Restore once there, to pick a Restore Point before your problem..

Click Start > Programs > Accessories > System Tools > System Restore > pick a different time > Next > etc

3. Malware will stop a System Restore.
Try a scan of your System:

Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware: Malwarebytes

Malwarebytes is as the name says, a Malware Remover!
Download the Free Version from the link above.
Download, install, update and scan once a fortnight.

The home of Spybot-S&D!

Spybot Search & Destroy 1.6.2 is a very good, FREE Anti-Spyware Program.
Download, install, update, and immunize your System with it.
Then SCAN with it.
Update it, and scan your System once a fortnight

Hi, I thank you for the response although I came across that article hours ago.

Here's the gist of it, I don't have Norton. But I have AVIRA (and I recently added NOD32 to the group of defenders). I've been having Spybot and Malware Bytes too for quite a while since I purchased this laptop months ago. If they are bound to be accurate as most have said, I encountered no viruses or malwares, perhaps only simple cookies (from Spybot).

Sadly, the system restore is not working. The action does take place, but however after rebooting there's an error saying that the system Restore didn't happen at all. and gave out that error code.
I've tried sfc/scannow. But once it's done it says something about Resource....whatsoever .
