Here We Go Again!!

Well I think I should have the name of Beta breaker, I've done it again BSOD every time I try to restart and repair and system Restore doesn't Work, so time for another reinstall.

4th time Lucky, I hope they bring out the Beta soon with a bit more stability and some better restore functionality, not that it is a problem in windows but if you don't get that far and you need to do a system repair it has some issues with system Restore and keeps coming up with errors telling me nothing has been changed.

I was tiring to play COD5 which wasn't working nor was it working on Vista but I managed to fix it on Vista with a different Realtek version but for some reason I couldn't get it to install on Windows 7, in fact once I removed the current Driver after a restart I was unable to install any Drivers and was left without sound and not even windows would install its default drivers I was also having problems with FireFox crashing every time I tried opening it.

I tried system restore to get back to a time when it was working but still no go, although I did get the sound working again, tried uninstalling it and reinstalling it still no go and then I started looking at other things and somewhere along the line everything went pair shaped and now I find myself at the point of another Reinstall.

But it's all good FUN and I will probably need to do it again some time in the future but I think I should maybe try for some sort of backup to save myself some time for future problems.

What's the best backup program to use?

Lol, I think you may have earned the title more than I have ;) Get enough of us and we can form a club :p

I had issues with losing the sound, but from a different way. In fact I had to remove my sound card because I noticed that even though the on-board sound is disabled in the BIOS, it kept installing and loading the MS drivers causing a bit of a conflict

I haven't yet used the function fully (I created an image but never restored it), but some are recommending the built in System Image Backup and others are having success with Acronis True Image.

I use Acronis. I find it works really well as a full restore and I can access the backup to extract any files I may have accidently deleted. I have it set to automatically backup my C drive twice a week to a dedicated storage drive. I have noticed that although it is set to start a backup at the next start-up if my Computer is turned of at the scheduled time, it doesn't. That's the only problem I've had with it. A few days ago I did a full restore from backup due to a hit from an Antivirus Virus, it took me an hour and I lost about 1 days data. Not too shabby? :geek:

Well this time I think I have cracked it, everything is installed and working the way I want it including COD5 and I must say I could not be happier and thanks to Shawn for the blue badge, that made life so much easier and now all I have to do is use this Beast.
