hibernate and sleep option at same time?

After disable hibernation and then enable it again, I miss the hibernation opstion in the "shut down"-menu. How do I get it back?

Is it possible to have both "Sleep" and "hibernation" as a selectable point in the shutdown-menu? (I do not use hybrid-sleep)

Here's an interesting thing about this situation. When Hybrid Sleep is enabled, Hibernate is not disabled. Hibernate is just removed from the power options menu.

It is not possible to have both options in the menu. However, you can have Hibernate be the default button, and have sleep in the menu.

First, disable Hybrid Sleep in the Advanced Power Options window.

Then make Hibernate be the default power button action in the taskbar properties. Mine is set to Sleep, but makes yours hibernate.



You can then enable Hybrid Sleep if you wish. Hibernate will remain the default button, and you will be found Sleep in the menu.

Just out of curiosity, why don't you use Hybrid Sleep?

Hybrid sleep takes much too long to stop the PC compared to just sleep, and I only use sleep for shorter time, else I want to use hibernation, where power can be cutted completely to the PC.
Sometime I want the speed of "sleep" and sometime I want to cut power completely. I don't see the need for hybrid Sleep

Hello Burgurne,

You could set you Start Menu power button and to Sleep, then turn off hybrid, turn on sleep, and enable hibernate in your power plan options. Afterwards, your Start Menu will look like the one below where you can use Sleep on the power button and hibernate from the power menu.

An alternative is to set your computer to sleep in your power plan options and use these shortcuts pinned to the taskbar or where you like.
