Hey guys,

I'm looking for a way to remove my mouse pointer completely as I don't need it. I've searched the forum but unfortunately haven't come up with anything posted on the subject. Essentially, what I'd like to do is make it completely invisible if that's possible.

Does anyone know of a way to achieve this?

I'd also love to remove the swirling blue orb at the welcome and shutdown screens.

Many thanks in advance.

EDIT: I've managed to remove my cursor. Now I'm just trying to find out how to remove the swirling blue orb on the welcome and shutdown screen. If anyone can help me out I'd appreciate it.

They are in the imageres.dll in C:\Windows\System32 for 32bit (x86) or in both C:\Windows\System32 & C:\Windows\SysWOW64 for 64 bit in a png folder or the bitmap folder or both I colored them all so not sure which one is which.

Deleting the cursors from imagres.dll is not enough. Because you will still get a quick cursor and circle pop up later in the boot sequence. What you also need to do is press the start button, type regedt32, click on the regedt32 program that pops up, and in the registry editor you need to go Hkey_users/.default/control panel/cursors. In there you need to change the cursors and the spinning circles to a blank cursor. I downloaded a blank cursor and put it in the C:/Windows/Cursors folder. And then I edited the paths in Hkey_users/.default/control panel/cursors to point to the blank cursor. This did the trick and finally removed the last remains of the cursor and spinning circle.

Brilliant mate. Thanks for the reply.

The project I was working on finished long ago now and I was always stuck with the spinning circle at boot up but this may come in handy in the future.
