High CPU usage when the computation program is running

Dear all

This is my first post. I need your help from you.

I am doing computational analysis for my project work. The computational analysis will finish approximately 7 hours. When I run the program for computational analysis, the computation process running fast . During this time, I checked the CPU usage . It is around 20%. When I continuously working on the computer the CPU usage not more than 26%. After some time, I close all the program except my computational program . after few minutes the CPU usage is 100% my computational program stuck. If I move the mouse the CPU usage comes down then the program is running fast.
please help me to rectify the problem

Hi,

The CPU usage depends on the software you are using, and the type of computation being performed. Is a screensaver trying to start that is 'stealing resources' from the software? How about the computer attempting to go into hibernation?

Use the Resource Monitor to determine what is using CPU when it spikes at 100%:

Have you tried raising the priority of the computational program while trying to run it without interference?

Can be done in Task Manager, right click the process and set priority, just don't set it to the highest, that will crash ya MOST likely and be counterproductive.
