Solved Hijackthis.....hosts problem

Midway through the scan the message as in attachment appears. However having followed the instructions and locating the hosts file (or in my case not, as it is not to be found), the final stage "saving hosts including quotes fails with "Access Denied".

I have checked permissions and they show in grey that a, user/administrator, I have full rights.
Otherwise the resulting list seems to populate normally.

Can anyone, please, suggest what the problem may be, or what I may be doing wrong?

Might there be a similar app to Hijackthis without the snag?

Is there a reason for your running HijackThis?

Do you suspect there malware in your system?

Not in particular, but location has had problems from local substation/ transformer. played havoc with internet connection. Though now cured by lots of men in hard hats, actual download times have been sluggish.

I just wanted to see if anything strange had got in despite using various known security s/ware incl paid M'bytes.

Using another prog I found something and it's now gone. ATM the sluggishness is gone, so for now I don't think I need go further.
