I am unable to share files with other users on my network (in fact, I cannot even access my own computer from clicking on the network tab in my computer). In addition, I am unable to share through a homegroup (I can see the other computers, and they can see me, but I am unable to share with them. They can share with each other though without issues). I can see that other computers are on the network (and homegroup).

Things I have tried:
  1. Disabling guest account. The account does have a password, but I do not know how to remove it.
  2. Creating a new user profile
  3. Restarting the homegroup

How can this be fixed?

It is a wireless network, and it works fine for the other computers on it (router and modem are set up correctly etc). I don't think that it is applicable. In addition, the wireless network location is set for home.

I think we are miscommunicating
Did you actually go to the start menu search bar, type homegroup and hit enter at any point?
Did you run the homegroup troubleshooter?

Yes and yes. The homegroup gets created fine, I am just able to see what are are any other the other computers (or even my own via the network or homegroup tabs). I know that the homegroup itself and the permissions on the other computers are OK as it works between the other computers on the network (and homegroup).
