Homegroup Keeps Disconnecting

The problem I am experiencing is the homegroup I have set up between my Dell Laptop Windows 7 Home Premium x64 and my custom desktop with Windows 7 Ultimate x86. It stays connected for a few hours, however after a while the two computers will stop seeing each other - they recognize being part of a homegroup, just no communication between them. In order to resolve the problem, I usually power cycle my Linksys E1000 Wireless-N router and it allows me to reconnect the two computers up with a homegroup.

My question is of course how can I prevent this from happening in the future? Although the fix seems to be resetting my router, I really don't think it is the router that is causing the initial problem. Any feedback would be very much appreciated. Thanks!

Hi MONSTERS,

Try disabling Power Management by click on the Power icon=> More Power Options=> Change Plan Settings and change everything to Never.

You may also disable any Power saving mode of the network adapter from Device Manager.

Hope this helps, if not please let us know.
