in the drivers/etc folder is: hosts.txt and hosts.sys.

I want to edit the hosts file but i dont know is it hosts.txt Or hosts.sys.
Oh, theres a file called Hosts without extension on my diffrent pc too.

Can you tell me is it safe to edit hosts file as well?

The hosts file witout extension is not even working! i tried to place in:
google.com youtube.com
and it didint work.

The real one is hosts alone, without any extension. In a normal install, there should be no other "hosts" with any extension, with the single extension-less one. Make sure Windows explorer is not hiding the extension, which does by default.

Note that, since the hosts is stored in a system protected location, to be able to modify it you must run notepad (or whatever thing you use to edit it) as administrator. Otherwise you can view it but can't modify.
