How can I factory reset my laptop?

I really would like to factory reset my laptop and I have no way to do so with the situation I'm in, so I'm hoping someone will be able to help.

First my laptop keyboard was having an issue, it would keep typing the "Y" key constantly when I was trying to login or type anything without me even pressing the key. I would assume a virus caused it, so I disabled the laptop keyboard which also disabled the mouse trackpad.

So I've been using a USB keyboard and mouse in the meantime, which has been working fine for me. But it gets to be annoying and I miss having the original laptop keyboard and mouse, so I would like to factory reset and wipe it all clean to hopefully resolve the issue before. I also can't use CDs since I don't think I have any.

Sadly I can't get to the menu to do so since I'd have to hit the key F2, F8, or F12 when it starts to boot up and my laptop keyboard is disabled and I am unable to hit the keys with the USB keyboard plugged in. So I would really like to know if there's another way to do a factory reset on the laptop besides from the boot up?

First, the "Y" key problem is a bad key on the keyboard, not a virus or your USB keyboard would do the same thing. The keyboard will have to be replaced.

You didn't list the Toshiba model number so we can't say for sure how to do it, but a BIOS reset is needed to get the keyboard back. There is a CMOS backup battery on the motherboard, usually a CR2032 coin cell and removing that for at least 10 minutes will reset the BIOS.

the model number is Satellite C855 and I am unsure how to exactly get the BIOS resetted. I'm not really a computer genius haha.

Sticking, intermittent keys are in most every case is a keyboard hardware problem. The keyboard will have to be replaced. It can be done but is not an easy task. I replaced a keyboard on an old Acer laptop and it was a major disassembly procedure. Fortunately I found a YouTube video on the procedure. The replacement keyboard was cheap ($25).

I have found videos on how to replace the toshiba c855 keyboard, but not sure if that also replaced the keyboard hardware, or if the keyboard hardware is somewhere within the inside of the laptop.

What hardware? A keyboard is a self contained component. It connects to the laptop's motherboard which has all the other "hardware".
