You can't make more than four partitions on a single drive that uses an MBR. Honestly, there's no reaosn to over-partition like that anyway. More partitions does not equate to better file management.

The best way is 3 primaries and one extended under which you can make a lot of logicals. If you already have 4 primaries, you have to get rid of one. I would use Disk management - it is safer than the OEM programs. Make backups when you fumble with other programs. Partition Wizard (free home edition) is one of the better programs for "fumbling".

Partition Wizard works great on my 64 bit Windows 7.

Use Partition Wizard bootable CD which works best with Win7.

In 100+ Resizing and dual-boot Removal operations we have helped with here, it has never failed - even though a 3rd party partitioning tool can be expected to sometimes fail during Resizing and Moving operations.

It can create Logical partitions, even convert Primary to Logical and vice versa.
