Hello,
I am looking for advice to recover a video i deleted a long time ago.
The system that it was on hasn't been formatted and is running Windows XP Home.
Is there any way i can recover this video?
I remember that it was taken from a Sony Ericsson mobile phone and name of the file was probably "MOV******".
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

Edit: I just realized that i am refering to a Windows XP system and that this is a Windows 7 Forum but could someone send me to either a thread elsewhere or help me anyway?

The standard ideas on that are recovery programs such as Recuva and Getdataback.

The longer it has been since the deletion, the less the chance for success. You may well have overwritten the video. If it has been years, I would have low expectations.

The programs are free to use to find out what can be recovered, but I think they would then charge you to be able to actually get it back.

Ok thanks for the help :)

Did you make any back up images of the partition? Many image backup programs will let you mount the image in Explorer like a drive. If the file was part of the backup image you may be able to copy it out of the image. Other than that it's pretty unlikely.
