Solved How can I remove an Alias?

I do not understand how this occurred but it's becoming a problem.


There isn't a User on our system with this name.


Occasionally, an application complains about it.


I would like to fix / eliminate it but do not know how.


This is how it appears: C:\Users\Aloysios\Desktop

Can you delete that entry in C:\Users? I assume your real user name also occurs there.

In Control Panel, User Accounts, does that name appear in other users?

You should probably run a scan on your system using both your anti-virus and Malwarebytes.

I found it in C:\Users as you said.
No, it does not appear in the other users.

Can you delete it?

I can't remember the correct term for what might have happened but it sounds like you responded to someone or something on the web that allowed someone\something to plant that alias to get access to your system. On the other hand, I expected that alias would be in your user account. I might be out in left field but that's why I suggested the system scans.

Note the Lock Symbol on it.

I tried!
When it was running, I could see it was deleting many of my file.
When it stopped, lots of stuff was gone or would not work.
I found a restore point from two days ago and ran it.
So far things appear to be back in shape.
I will attach several Snips that may be of interest.

WOW, what a nightmare!

I was just trying to respond to a BSOD Post and guess what the System presented me with!

Please see the Attachment, note the name.


I now cannot print.


Any guesses?

Thanks to Every one that has tried to help me regarding this Post!
I have been met with several problems that in my opinion are major.
1. A Blue Screen of Death.
2. An Alias issue.
3. Not being able to print.
4. Permissions problems.
5. YIKES – I give up!
I will be trying to Restore my PC to its former condition from about two weeks ago, via MS Restore.
Then I will use Restore Points to go back as far as I can.
Then I will take a complete Backup with a System Image.
I should be able to run the Backup with the System Image, as I now know about the 2TB limit.
With that accomplished, I’ll sign back on and hopefully, most if not all of the above, will be in the past.
Again, thank you all for your assistance and help.

I see here that you have a new G-mail account with that name (Aloysios) in it-

Could be related to your problem with the alias.

No, I have been working on my Permissions issue.
Once I solve it, I'll move to the Email one.
