I recently reinstalled Windows, but I forgot to remove my enrolled fingerprints from the scanner first. Now I can't enroll those fingerprints in Windows because the scanner tells me they're already enrolled--even though they aren't tied to anything. Is there any way to clear them from the scanner now?

This may or may not work.

1. Click the "Start" button and then the "Control Panel" link.

2. Type "Biometrics" in the Control Panel Search box, and then click the "Biometric Devices" option.

3. Click the "Change Biometric Device Settings" option, and then click the "Biometrics Off" radio button.

4. Click the "Save Changes" button to apply the changes and close the window.

5. Repeat steps 1 to 3, and then click the "Biometrics On" radio button to reset your fingerprint reader.

6. Change the finger you log in with or any of the other settings on the same Biometric Devices screen.

7. Click the "Save Changes" button to apply the changes and close the window.

Thanks for the help. That didn't fix it, as I don't have biometrics in my contorl panel. But I do have HP's security suite thingy there, and I found an option to clear the fingerprints from there.
