Hi! I am no longer using my home network. And I'm also afraid that some unknown users could make use of my computer through a home network. In any case, I see that I have some unknown user profiles listed on my computer, like when I clicked on properties(or something like that) in the options I found by right clicking on a movie maker project that won't open (it's faded and error message says it can't find all parts). I saw a list of user profiles said to be unknown, in addition to my own. How can I remove these unknown profiles? I tried to remove one, but error message said I can't remove "this object" because it is inheriting permissions from its parent. It said in order to remove it, I need to prevent object from inheriting permissions. How do I do that? I have windows 7 system, and it's an HP laptop computer. Thanks if anyone can help!:p

Is there a actual profile folder for the user or is it just rights on other folders. To take control you have to go to the top of the folders above the problem one and remove rights there so it will filter down

I have the only username set up on this computer. So it's not any other users here. I think what it is is permissions - I get there by right-clicking on one of my movie maker folders, since the movie maker folders is what I was concerned about. I see about 5 or more unknowns listed there - with numbers for each. I tried to deny permissions in the window below, but so far, am only able to deny the one at the top of the list. I denied permissions by selecting "deny" on the right side. But the ones after that which I tried to deny, still say "full permission." What do you suggest I do about that?

I finally managed to get it to say "deny" twice on that one folder, and was able to remove the rest. I guess I have to do this for all folders I want to safekeep. One remaining problem with my movie maker project that I've been usually unable to open any more - is that though it was larger than the earlier versions of it, it now is only in kb size. While the earlier, smaller ones are said to be in MB size. Anyhow, thanks for your help so that I now know how to deny permissions.

By now, I see some success, in getting pictures put back into that movie maker project! So it means that removing those unknowns, helped bring back the missing pictures! For some reason, it was no longer named with it's original name, but there's been great improvement! Maybe they changed names around some (I had renamed it lots of times in my backups of it). So tomorrow, I'll try to open up some that had higher number of MB - maybe my larger one will be in them, even though they aren't named the name of my last and largest sized one of it. In any case, thanks for your help!

If its a long number there is no danger as its theSID of former user so only that sid could connect and as its not there anymore no one could connect
