Solved How do change default bookmark location in IE9?

I have a laptop setup with 2 partitions C: and F: with Windows 7 installed to the C:.
I have DeepFreeze installed and freezing the C: partition so it can't be modified. Currently I have redirected all normal folders such as My Documents, My Pictures etc, including the Desktop directory to the F: drive. My current issue is that Internet Explorer stores its bookmarks to the C:\ drive. I have looked at a ton of threads about changing the bookmark location for IE, as I want to have them store on the F: drive instead of the C: but I am not finding info for changing the directory.
In windows 7 most directories seem like they have a built in ability to just change the location property, but not certain about this.

I saw a thread that said you can browse to C:\Users\<User Name>\Favorites and change that folders location through the properties, and IE should automatically detect this and store the bookmarks to there. I did this, however after the folders location was moved none of my bookmarks stored to that new path. The only information I saw said 'restore the location or it won't work' which obviously defeats what I am trying to do. Does IE support this type of change natively, or is there a way to set it up?

Thank You Danny, I had already tried modifying where the Favorites folder was which was not working for me, but in your link I found this link:

I followed its instructions for modifying the registry for where new users would be created (F:\Users), and then created a new user, and just moved necessary documents to the new user. Now I have everything neatly contained and functioning as intended at this point. I really appreciate your guidance on this!

***Edit:
Not only did this fix the issue of where Internet Explorer saved its favorites to, but because it modified the Users folder for this user, programs that use that as a reference point were migrated to. This means that it fixed my next issue of the StickyNotes! Because the Users folder is on a non-frozen partition at this point, the stickynotes will actually remain after a reboot. This was an awesome bit of info, thank you so much Danny!

Glad you got it sorted, that's what I do on my installs to minimize the data on the operating systems drive.

Follow up question for this. Everything has been successfully migrated to the F: drive which is great, but I am running into one more issue. When you connect to the internet, and you provide login credentials, those credentials typically save somewhere. Right now when I have the C: partition 'frozen' after the machine reboots it does not remember those login credentials for the internet. I found how to manage windows credentials: Manage network logon credentials in Microsoft Windows | TechRepublic

But this doesn't seem to address the credentials for actually logging into a network?

I found a registry entry for the network I'm on here: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\NetworkList\Profiles

But I don't see a place to modify where this information is stored, and I'm not sure even if you can if it is safe to do so? Are network settings stored strictly in the registry?

I found this white paper that talks about the wireless connection registry entries, and it sounds like your login credentials for a wireless network might be all stored in the registry? http://www.sans.org/reading_room/wh...networks-windows-registry-computer-been_33659

I'll be interested to find out if someone knows if you can move where this type of data is stored.
