Hi all I have seen a couple of tutorials on how to add memory to Minecraft but none of them have worked very effervescently what is the best way I could do this ?

Make sure you have 64 bit Java installed as you're using 64 bit Windows.

Open Notepad and add this line to it:

javaw -Xmx7168m -Xms3584m -jar "<your minecraft directory\Minecraft.exe"

Fill in the Minecraft directory with where your Minecraft.exe is located. Save the Notepad file as a .bat file (change the "save as type" in the Save dialog and save it as MinecraftMem.bat or something), then simply right click on the batch file and run as administrator and it should increase the memory Minecraft is allowed to use.

For background info on what the batch file will be doing.

The -Xmx command is the maximum amount of memory Minecraft can use. As you have 8GB of RAM in your system, this is setting the maximum amount of RAM Minecraft can use to 7GB. The -Xms command is the initial amount of memory allocated is the amount available for direct usage. Obviously you can switch the values around to what you actually want to use, but I'd say they are adequate values.

Is "Mineceaft" a spelling mistake or is your Minecraft.exe really named that?

As far as I know yea, you have to launch Minecraft via that batch file. It's the only way I've come across of doing it.

You will need MCPatcher for Sphax PureBD Craft 512x.
(Link: MCPatcher HD Fix for Minecraft 1.4.7) What you do is open the .exe file, click Options and it will say, "java heap size (MB)" for 256x I use 2048 MB and I'm guessing 3584-4096 MB's are needed for 512x and for the Shader's Mod you don't need anything extra then your normal modding.

This is not the minecraft forums, little people here really use minecraft, you would have much BETTER luck asking this at the minecraft forums where the plug-in developers are.

Also the shaders mod is incredibly unstable, and not compatible with most recent versions of minecraft, I would advise against using an outdated mod unless you are looking to mess bigtime with your minecraft .bin

If you want the Shaders mod, you have to know how to downgrade, that wouldn't mess up your minecraft.jar.

Why would you even downgrade just for one mod that is not even appealing since it's highly unstable?

It isn't highly unstable... At least it wasn't back in earlier updates... But what do I know, I've only been playing for over three years.... Oh yeah, and also, that isn't the only mod you have to use if you downgrade....
