How do I delete a primary partition

I have a USB thumb drive that has 32GB imprinted on it but windows only sees 1 primary partition of 62MB. How can I delete this primary partition and get this thing back to a 32GB drive? Could there be hidden partitions?

RockofNJ, welcome to the forums. Right click computer and select manage, the re format it from there.

I seems to be formatted wrong for a memory stick, you have it as NTFS, here is my 8gb stick...fat 32 format

Just extend that volume

I suggested re formatting because to extend it it should show unallocated space which his doesn't.

I didn't notice that... thanx.
But reformatting or deleting the partition won't help either (I think). Total physical disk size is 62MB in screenshot.

Maybe reinitialize the usb disk will help?

Not hidden. You can put an encrypted file system in a container that is actually a fiel in a partition. Or encrypt a whole partition. But anyway... the partition size shows correct in disk manager. It's just end-sector minus startsector.

Don't know where the really last sector on disk is stored... so I don't know it computes the disksize.
Even an totally cleaned disk has a disksize!! Maybe stored in firmware(?)

I know we're not talking about sectors here becuase it's usb flash stick, but actually it's the same.

I was right.... it's in firmware. It even can be fake.
How to Make Fake Pen/USB/Flash Drive Genuine/reset to Original Capacity?
I hope the "clean" command works... otherwise he has to hack the firmware (although most fake disksizes display more GB's insetad of less).

If clean doesn't work... buy a new stick

Where did you buy the USB stick from?
Just like sd cards, there has been a huge fake market for this kind of thing now.
You buy a incredibly priced flash drive or sd, and you find out you were taken for a ride.

No errors but it did not return the drive to it's 32GB size.
I got the drive free from a friend so it's not a huge deal I was hoping it really was 32GB like it says on the casing.
