how do I delete contacts

Thank you,
I think if I didn't have my Bigpond email account in WLM then how would I read emails?, my family and friends use that to email me. I would have to install another email program wouldn't I?.

Also, when I go to "accounts and properties" for Hotmail There is no option to change to pop. The tabs I see are, general, server and security. Under server I see
http://mail.services.live.com/DeltaSync_v2.0.0/sync.aspx. and the server is HTTP.

Thank you,
Josey.

That's because you have to choose to manually set up your email account in WLM, rather than let WLM automatically adopt an IMAP approach.

You can't alter it afterwards. You can delete your IMAP account and recreate it as a fresh POP/SMTP based account by choosing the manual configuration option... :)

OKay thank you very much, so if I do this then my bigpond pop acount and Hotmail will all be together and no separate folders, am I correct in thinking this? and is this safer for my bigpond account. I'm still conused about the "cloud" part. Just been reading somewhere on this forum that Windows live Mail is clloud based, someone else is confused.

Josey.

...This is what I think I am supposed to do...
The main purpose of having an email client like WLM installed on your computer is to take care of all your email needs. So you actually never have to actually go to the web version of any of your accounts. This is true whether or not you choose to sign-in to WLM. You set up each account in WLM (HTTP for Hotmail and POP3 for most others) and your mail will be downloaded to the folders set up under each account and deleted from the email server (unless you set the WLM option to "leave copy on server").

If you wish to save any emails be careful never to delete the account they are listed under until you move them to the "Storage Folder" area. When you backup your PC, save the Windows Live Folder in Windows Explorer where they are located. (You can find the path by looking at Options/Advanced/Maintenance/Store Folder.) Alternatively, use the Export Messages feature. If you sign-in your contacts are saved on the web, but if you don't sign-in they must be backed up as well using the Export Contacts feature in the Contacts window of WLM.
