How do I get rid of DivX Software, but save the files?

I don't remember why I did it, however there is on my desktop two DivX icons.
One is the DivX Converter, and the other is DivX Player.
Also on my PC is a folder that is marked DivX Movies and it has nothing in it.
Because of my sickness, and I have time on my hands, I went exploring in Win 7.
And I found out that DivX has hidden several Video files from me in the bowels
of Win 7.
Since Win 7 already comes with a Windows Media Center that I avoid, and since
I have been a subscriber to Real Player for many years, my first impression with
DivX has not been positive, and I am seriously considering the removal of this
Software Program and its Icons, but not the Video files that are associated with it.
Another reason for dumping it is because of not being able to block the adds.
On occasions I do go before audiences to hold discussions, and to explain my
thoughts and Ideas, and if I were to use a clip that has been saved in DivX,
these adds of theirs would distract me and confuse my audience.
Question:
What would be the best way to get rid of the DivX Software along with its two
Icons that are taking up space on my Desktop, and somehow move, or associate
the DivX Video files, with the Windows Media Center or with Real Player?
Is this possible, or has DivX converted these files in such a way that they would
not be quickly usable with some other Software Program?

DivX usually saves files here: C:\Users\"YourName"Videos\DivX Movies
If this is where the videos are then simply move them somewhere else.
Uninstall DivX though I doubt the uninstaller would delete that folder.

Sorry, but "C:\Users\"YourName"Videos\DivX Movies" is not where these clips are hidden away.
They are here "C:\Users\"YourName"\Pictures\Desert Tabernacle\Mind-Set>".
There are four files that are shown as .mp4 files, and one as .rtf.
Since DivX is redundant, I would prefer to move them some place else where I can access them
from a 'Video' folder which is on my Desktop. But the main thing is so I can 'Unhide' and access
these Videos when I need to show them. But as it stands right now, I'm not able to do this because
these Videos are hidden.

How would I go about associating these files with the "Desktop -> Libraries -> Videos -> DivX Movies"
folder that is, at the moment empty, but is at this location on my PC?
