How do I get rid of this startup error?

Hello,

I have a new Lenovo laptop with Windows7 and everytime I wake it up or start it up it has an error that reads: Can Not Find C:\Program Files (x86)\Lenovo\VeriFace\VerifyHost.exe. If I click OK it goes away but it's getting annoying.

The laptop had some kind of Veriface program that recognizes your face or something to log you on, but I didn't want it so I removed it from the Control Panel. I also went in to msconfig and unchecked that program from the Start tab but it still does this. Is there something on the msconfig Tasks or Applications tab that I need to remove also? I don't see anything on there that says "VeriFace" or something like that and I don't want to start removing things just because I'm not sure what they do.

Any help appreciated.

press winkey + r
type msconfig and hit enter in the box that appears
in the new window select use selective startup. the go to the startup tab
Find the offending app and untick it, okay out.
As a general rule just about everything there can be safely removed.
You can experiment easy enough.

Note: you will get a single message basically telling you msconfig was used the next time you startup, it will go away if you untick the box before closing it and not bother you again.

You can uncheck everything in msconfig>Startup except AV and gadgets if your use them. After reboots, see if anything writes itself back in and turn it off in its Program preferences or uninstall it.

Next in msconfig>Services, Hide All MS Services to see what else is starting without your knowledge. Uncheck it and if it writes itself back in, turn it off or uninstall.

The exception may be a HD protection program with an installed driver that parks a laptop HD, and if you have Lenovo Wireless Manager crapware you may have to reconfigure the superior built-in Win7 one in System tray.

This is why many tech enthusiasts find a Win7 installer to clean reinstall without the factory bloatware and useless utilities with better versions built into Win7: Reinstalling Windows 7

Found this suggestion on on another web site. I would suggest you grab the latest copy version 3 from the lenovo website.. Reinstall it, get it working.. And then do a uninstall.
