How do I recover administrator rights

After trying to create hard disk space on my c: ( due to a badly partitioned disk) I have managed to corrupt three out of four log ins, two of which were administrator, including the hidden account ! Crazy I know but what can I say.

I have access to the laptop via the remaining account but this is limited as it is not an administrator. I know the password for administrator but as I have wrecked the administrator account it is not functional.

As a last resort e before I attempt to reload Windows 7 and wipe the PCM does anyone have anything to offer to save me some pain. help !

Wardies27, welcome to the windows 7 forums.
It looks to me that you need to re-install your windows, a clean install or a restore with your manufacturers recovery disks.
Your out of luck if you can't get into the administrator account.

I thought that this was the most likely outcome but thought it was worth the time to run it past a few more people before pushing the button so to speak.

Looks like I have a fun weekend ahead reworking my sons laptop.

while there are ways to hack an account to give it admin privileges, in your case a reinstall is probably better, as it will fix all other issues you may have caused.

Some tools and tutorials to help you out:

FastCopy, a portable program that moves files around at far higher speeds than Win7 to help you save files you want to save to another partition/hard drive.

Clean reinstall tutorial, that gives you links to clean Win7 isos you can use to make your own install DVD or make your own far faster USB win7 installation pendrive.
