How do I remove the user name from logon, leaving only password box?

Hello, all. I promise I searched for this answer but I cannot find it, and using the "Logon Workshop" program was of no help. I have already removed the user picture frame and version branding from my logon screen, but I would like to remove the username as well, leaving on the box to type in my password.

Please advise. Thank you all in advance for your time and great job offering the myriad support you already have!

Hello KakaruPilot, and welcome to Seven Forums.

It's not exactly what you are wanting, but if you like, you could set it to where users must enter both a user name and password to not see the user names.

http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/61650-log-user-name-password.html

Hope this helps, :)
Shawn

Hey, Shawn. Thank you for the swift reply and the suggestion. Since I am the only user of this particular machine I was really just wanting the lone password box, but if all else fails I will go that route. Thanks again, sir!

Thank you very much for reaching out like that. I know it is just a matter of aesthetics for the most part but if it is possible that would be great. Thanks again and I shall keep on the lookout!

Thank you as well for the swift reply. I appreciate you sharing your knowledge with me. After seeing your reply I did in fact go with brinks' suggestion and I am liking it more than I thought I would. To be honest, this is my first Win7 machine of my own. Of course most of our machines at work are Win7 except for our CF-19 Toughbooks, but all of my PC's have been XP. I am very much liking Win7 and am looking forward to tweaking it and customizing it more and more. Can you make any suggestions as to the most popular performance tweaks just to remove any unnecessary processes in one sweeping blow? Thanks so much again. Have a great holiday.
