How do i Splitting a 2tb HDD into 3 drives..

hi, i have a 2tb hdd..installed windows 7

now i want to split my hdd into 3
mayb 150gb for system (C
1000 for work
rest for random stuff...(gaming, etc etc)

but when i go into mang.
i can only split it to 900gb....

so now i have a 1000 sys n 900 on another...
C...D drive...

....i dont need a 1000 sys.....

so what can i do?

You can only have 4 primary partitions on one hd. 3x 150 plus the work partition=4

Use Partition Wizard.

It is highly recommended and has successfully configured drive partitions for many here on WSF.

Basically, you just download the PW ISO and burn it to a blank disc then boot into it and re-partition your drive to the sizes you want then apply the changes before booting back into Windows.

Just remember you can only have four primary partitions on an MBR-configured hard drive. If you need more you can create logical partitions as part of an extended primary partition.

Windows 7's disk management utility is very basic.

If you want to partition your hard drive in the manner you suggest, you will have to buy some blank discs (they're not expensive) and use Partition Wizard as I suggested.

It's a good solution I've offered you and if you decide not to use it there's nothing more I can do to help you.

If you have a spare USB flash drive, you can use that instead of a CD/DVD if you like.
