Solved How do I upgrade to Windows 7 ultimate with out the admin password

I just recently (recently meaning a while ago) bought a Windows 7 Ultimate upgrade key, and I want to surprise a friend by upgrading his OS to Windows 7 Ultimate, but I do not know his administrator password. The only password I know of is an account he set up for me. Does anyone know how I can upgrade his OS without asking him for his administrator password? If it helps, he is currently using the Windows 7 Starter operating system. Thank you in advance. To clear up some confusion, the key was got when I bought the upgrade on his computer. I have marked this as solved because earlier when I went over to his house to help him with some maintenance around his house, I saw that his account was still open and upgraded his OS while he wasn't looking.

1) If you just bought a Key without accompanying software, then it's by definition counterfeit.
2) No-one here is allowed to tell you how to bypass security systems.

That is precisely what you are asking for. Your reasons for doing this are not relevant.

Yeah, we just can't help you get around his password, just surprise him by telling him and he can let you in his admin account.

He could have bought an Anytime Upgrade key which is how Win7 is changed to a higher version. I'm not aware of who is stlll selling those but it's possible someone is, even MS store. I keep waiting for them to start selling all retail versions of Win7 again since it's their only successful OS now.

We are not going to help you hack a password, but if your friend wants Ultimate on his PC then tell him to follow these steps to insert the key to unlock the extra features in Ultimate: Windows Anytime Upgrade - How to - Windows 7 Forums

Is w7 Starter eligible for Anytime upgrade? As I understand it, it was not sold, only installed on OEM machines of very low end netbooks and such, some with Atom processors.

I don't see Anytime Upgrade being sold anywhere though. Do you?

A full or upgrade retail Ultimate key could also be inserted ("I'm just checkin my email in here!") but I don't see those anywhere nowadays either.

we need to see a full copy of the report produced by the MGADiag tool

Once saved, run the tool.
Click on the Continue button, which will produce the report.
To copy the report to your response, click on the Copy button in the tool (ignore any error messages at this point), and then paste (using either r-click/Paste, or Ctrl+V ) into your response.

Yes he has. He couldnt thank me enough, because his current financial situation isnt that great, and he has been wanting to upgrade for awhile but, due to his financial situation, he couldnt.
