How programs open

I have Firefox installed on a laptop, it used to open up directly when the icon was clicked on, now Windows is asking 'do I want to open the program', but IE opens up directly, and I have not changed the default settings

Right click on the icon and select properties. In "Compatibility" tab, uncheck "Run this program as an administrator". Click Apply, OK.
