How to backup jumplists?

All,
I've been one of the lucky ones selected to "beta test" Windows 7 for the company I support. I have the current "beta" installed and set up the way I want but I'll need to move to the next release soon. How do you suggest I backup my jump-lists? I was able to significantly clean up my desktop by moving most of the documents to the Documents folder and put them on the jump-lists.

Oh yeah, the reason for the major beta test push is that they're using this opportunity to move from everyone having admin rights on their own PC on XP to standard user on 7. This is a welcome change in some respects, people won't be able to disjoin their PC from the domain while trying to hook up to a home printer nor will it be easy for them to install apps like Skype.

Thanks for any help on the jump-list thing. I found an app that will do it supposedly but it costs money.

Yes, that's the same one I found. I'm not terribly interested in spending money on a solution, it IS for work after all and I know they won't pay for the app.

Why would you need to backup jumplist? They only contain pointers to files...and recent references...

That's the question I've been wondering. If you don't like accessing the documents each and everytime, put a shortcut to your Documents folder on your desktop, until your Jump Lists are rebuilt. The jump lists will change all the time anyway. I love jump lists as much as anyone, but I can't believe someone would need them backed up...as if clicking to a Doc folder is a lot of work.

I have several Excel files that I use frequently, plus many that I use infrequently (so they would fall off the recently used list). I pinned all my most important files to the taskbar on an icon for Excel so I can have quick access to them. Isn't that the whole POINT of jumplists and pinning items anyway, to make everything more efficient. I have all those items in my Documents library/folder, but this way it's one click instead of sifting through folder structure to find the ones I need.

I do PC support, I have parts lists (Dell has each series in its own Excel workbook so I have 4-5 of those), user lists, contact lists for the team, lists of required SW deployments for the VIPs (I get sent a list of people not complying with standards, or key people to hit with a new deployment). My desktop was a MESS of documents and links, until I went to our Win 7 Beta (don't worry, it's Professional RTM), then I could move all my stuff to my Documents folder and pin the important ones to Jumplists. However, since it's a Beta image I'll need to reimage when the next one comes out so I'll need to re-do the jumplists unless I can back them up.

I would just redo them...no big deal. Many of us work out of many files. I'm an I.T. Director, and only IT staff in a small company, and currently running 8 projects on top of all that. I have documents coming out of my morning coffee. Jump lists do save time, but if I had to reimage right now, I could be done setting them up during my first morning teleconference.
