How To Change a "No-Password" Bootup Back to a "Password "Bootup ?

At present I have my WIN 7 set to Boot up without a Password. I would now like to change that siuation back to a "Password Required" Boot.

How do I go about this ?

I have tried going into User Accounts >Change Passwords where I get the three boxes "Current Password", "Change Password" and "Confirm New Password" all blank as expected.

Its what happens next that has me puzzled.

I tried leaving the "Current Password" blank , entered a new Password into the "Change Password" box and re-entered this into the last Box .

I now get the message " The password you typed is incorrect. Please re-type your new Password"

What to do here ?

You might have windows set up to not require a password or automatically login (stored password), so you still would need to enter the password you had entered when installing windows. This is just a guess though don't hold me to this

The new password and the confirm new password must match, otherwise you get an error message.

Also you need to enter the original password first, if you leave it blank you get an error.

Open the main User Accounts control panel. Click on Manage another account and provide administrative credentials. Click on the account you wish to modify. Next, click on Remove the password and then Remove Password to confirm. Note that if there isn't a password stored for this account, you will not get this option. Now, click on Create a password, enter a password of your choice and enter it in the appropriate boxes. Add a hint if you wish, although this is optional. Click on Create password to confirm and then close the dialogue panel.
