How to find out IF there is a password set.

Title should not be interpreted that I need to break into a machine, I got locksmith to do that.

What I want to do is determine if there is a password set on the machine, when I booted it, it showed the user selection screen (Administrator) and on clicking it, it goes to the desktop. If there is a password, I need to break it and install my own. If there is no password, I might just leave well enough alone.

Control panel > user accounts. If the account has a password it will say password protected.
