I use disk manager to change the drive letter, but it does not change the drive references within registry.

So, how do you change the drive letter and also at the same time change the referencing drive letters in the registry?

The problem: robocopy does not recognize the new drive letter after restart.

Which drive are you trying to change? What letter are you changing it to?

You can not change any registry entries at the same time. That is one reason why the warning is given in Disk Management during the letter change, that some programs may no longer function properly .

C: is on drive 0.
I am trying to change a vol. on drive 4, from V:\ to anything else (but of course not A or B)
After the change, I need to change registry entries referencing vol V:\ on drive 4.
Is there a prgm in Win7 which does this?
Is there a 3rd party prgm which does this?

Not as far as I know.

You will have to do it manually.

I was hoping someone would come back and suggest another program like the old Partition Magic which would auto change the regestery whenever drive letters where changed.

Locating drive references in the registry can be very difficult. Apploications do this in a wide variety of ways. There are no firm rules for this, only guidelines, and they are frequently ignored. There may also be references in INI, XML, or any other file type the developer cares to use. It is very difficult to write software that takes all that into consideration and there are many ways to get it wrong.
