It usually does not hurt to leave notepad associated with an extension. However, if some app is not working for you because of this notepad association, then you should re-install that app. Hopefully, the re-installation process will fix whatever you changed.
If re-installing the app does not work for you, then you can use the reg file attached to this post to remove the notepad association. However, that reg file removes all major registry entries related to the file extension named
.srt. You might still need to re-install whatever app is not working for you.
