No difference with an SSD. Set the drive first to boot in BIOS.

Let us know if the My Book still hangs boot after moving Boot Mgr which will refresh the boot files.

If so has MyBook ever been made bootable? Sometimes if so it requires moving the data off the drive to wipe boot code that is interfering: Diskpart Clean Command

Thanks Greg. No the Mybook was never Bootable. As far as I know... bought it new... I should not be bootable out of the package.
OH yes forgot about looking at the book sequence. This was second nature to me when I got my first computer... an 8088. have forgotten much of it.. thanks for the tip.
