Hello and welcome siwa nice to see someone include the system specs for change now mate this is the manual for that board http://downloadmirror.intel.com/15116/eng/D945GCL_ProductGuide03_English.pdf go to page 43 & 44 for info if this link does not take you straight to them.
I have included a couple of snips anyway. Post back if there are any problems.

Have had a go siwa and see these links and the pic as your board pic is back to front to the Intel site one

The old front panel connectors aren't compatible with the new HD headers. There's no longer an in/out (mic/speakers) since the "Ports" can be re-tasked depending on what's plugged into them. You'll need to remove the pins from the connectors (use an extractor) and place the pins individually on the header. Not particularly a clean install but doable if you still want to use an old case. Be sure to mark each wire. Use the pin chart in the Wiki link.

and unless the OP has got another case for it and by looking at those leads it doesn't appear to be a new case there should be no difference just the pic he has sent of those pin arrangements is back to front to the site manual I posted.

I think the pins on the board are the same. It depends on the direction you're looking at the header. (The key is pin 8 location.) You're right that the board is old but it has the HD header. That's what I meant by "new". The case is even older and doesn't even match AC97 specs. I was looking at an audio update for that board. It appears to be one of Intel's problem child boards with many audio problems and no work-around. One problem is the retasking of ports. Noted as such by the instruction to manually configure the ports in your first snip. I wonder if the board is even compatible with Windows 7?

To the OP - Are you trying to build this system from miscellaneous parts?

Correction: The pins from the case are AC97. Sorry.

Not a problem Carwiz I have had a few of this board version and I know it really wasn't a quantum leap in tech eh LOL!!

If you look at the board specs in that link I sent the supported Windows are mentioned uo to and stop at Vista but I suppose it doesn't mean that 7 will not go on it eh?
