how to delete $RECYCLE.BIN folder

dear all,

could you please help me to solve this issue.
the problem is a $RECYCLE.BIN folder added in my hard disk D: and in my external hard disk and all the folder has 40KB in his sise.
I checked in folder option view and the option hide protected operating system file is ticked.
really im very worry about my files. (see attached file)

is $RECYCLE.BIN folder a virus ??
how can I solve the problem

Welcome to the forum.

$RECYCLE.BIN is where files in the recycle bin are stored. There should be such a folder on every local and external drive. It cannot be deleted by normal methods and you should not attempt to do so.

You should only delete the $RECYCLE.BIN file using the method in the tutorial below if you are having an issue with the Recycle Bin for a drive.

first thanks to your quick reply.
I deleted the $RECYCLE.BIN folder but all the folder that we have in this hard disk doesn't open it show me the message (see attached file).

please help me this problem keep me crazy because of my document doesn't opened.

Run a system file check, it may fix it.

You should have only removed the recycle bin and not deleted it.

NB: the problem just in D: partition in the C: that include system dont has this problem.

The document issue doesn't seem related to the $RECYCLE.BIN folder. Does reinstalling the program that added the Agouram screen saver (.scr) help?

Is your $RECYCLE.BIN folder still not hidden? If not, then run the command below in an elevated command prompt to restore its default attributes.

attrib +s +h +I "D:\$RECYCLE.BIN"

The $RECYCLE.BIN folder is supposed to be there, but it should be set with a hidden system attribute.

The screensaver looks like it's part of a program, and may not work properly if moved from it's installation source. Does reinstalling the program that added the Agouram screen saver (.scr) help?

agouram is just a folder that has many word file.

Your screenshot shows (thinks) all the folders are "screen saver" for some reason.

Are you able to open them properly if you copy it to say your desktop, and open it from there? If so, then might copy all folders except $RECYCLE.BIN, format D drive, and copy everything back.

I copied all the folder to desktop but they doesn't open.
If I format the system C: the problem will go (the recycle.bin folder will go away and all my folder come back like before)? ??

Formatting "D" should take care of $RECYCLE.BIN, but the rest on "D" would be a loss if you don't have a working backup of them.
