Hi,

I have a home network of 3 computers, wired, all on Win7 Home, 2 in 64 bit, one on 32 bit. I copy files from one computer to others. In Windows Explorer, I have shortcuts that keep multiplying. On computer 3, I have 100 (100!) shortcuts of Videos. They are named Videos~1, Videos~2... Videos~100 (see picture).

When I click on Videos, I have total access (Delete, Copy, etc.), but when I click on the shortcuts, I can't delete them, nor if I press the Del button.

My router is a D-Link DIR-825.

What can I do to delete the unnecessary files? I have tried many forum and no one knows. I can't be the only one in the world who has this problem.

Thanks

OS
Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit
Login as administrator.

If these are all shortcuts only in Videos-2 folder, then right click on the Videos-2 folder and select properties, security tab.

Here at first take ownership of this folder with all the contents. Close all the dialog boxes to apply the settings. Open the security tab again for this folder and assign full permissions for administrators in all folders, subfolders and files. Apply and close all the dialog boxes.

Now try to delete all the shortcuts to videos. It should be possible now.

Hi,

No it does't work. All these files are under Videos (see new picture). I did what you said, as they told me in another Forum also, but nothing happens. I still don't have access to Delete.
