Hi All,

New to the forum hope someone can help. I have a htpc with windows 7 x64 installed. I have the system setup to turn off after 15 mins of inactivity. This used to work fine but now after 5 to 10 mins the system makes the sound of when you disconnect something from the usb, immediately followed by the sound of something being reconnected. This of course is seen as activity and so the system never turns off. I have disconnected all USBs connected devices but it still does it.

What could I use to diagnose this?

You might start with a command line and this iirc:

powercfg /lastwake

to see if it will tell you what woke your PC.

Another util that might give you clues is this. At least, you've said you "disconnected all USBs" and this may show you something:
