I have a 150-Mbit capable router and a notebook with Atheros AR9485-EG wireless adapter.

The connection speed is always 54 Mbit/s. The router is set to b/g/n mode. Irf to set it into 11n-only mode the connection cannot be established at all. What should I do to enable 11n?

Well; i would try setting the adapter to just wireless n if possible and see what happens. If that does not do anything; there may be a setting(s) in your router configuration page that may fix the issue. But since i can not see your router etc; I cant tell for sure.
