Why don't you try running the disc from the Ashampoo program? I wouldn't think you should need to format a disc in Windows before using it with Burning Studio.

You cannot format a CD-R disk. Only CD-RW disks can be formatted for reuse.

There are 2 ways to put mp3 on a CD. First is have the files converted to standard CD audio format. CDBurnerXP will offer to do it when you drag and drop the files on. But if your player can play mp3 directly, just burn the CD as a data disc with the mp3 files as ordinary files.

I recommend ImgBurn for this purpose. Or CDBurnerXP may be a bit easier. Just select a data disc rather than an audio disc type.

Just use windows media player. Its built in. Do not try to format a cdr. That writes to it and makes the disc unusable.
Get a new disk, blank cdr and open windows media player. Drag the music to the burn tab. Hit burn.
