how to get date back on taskbar without getting day back?

so i need help with:
how to get date back on taskbar without getting day back?
i tried rasiing the taskbar and that shows the time and under it the day and then the date. i have also tried going into the format for the date and it is already set in correct option without including day?! im using classic shell as my taskbar. but when i make the icons (right click, properties, use large icons) the date and time is displayed but then my open windows are too big for my liking. so is there away i can get the date without the day while keeping them small icons?

Did you go into Additional Settings in Formats tab (Region and Language)? You can specify your own format and not just use the preconfigured ones.
