Hey guys I'm having a little bit of problem here installing Deepcool rockman fan controller that I got from newegg. (DEEPCOOL ROCKMAN(PWM) Fan Control Panel 3.5" Bay 4 Channel Fan Controller - Newegg.ca)

I opened up my computer (XPS Studio 9100) and I tried installing this, I removed the 3.5 drive bay and I was starting to plug the cables from the fan controller and then I realized I had no damn idea what I was supposed to do. I have looked online and there is just no instruction/guide/tutorial on how to install this thing. Obviously the chinese maker of this item didn't supply instructions on how to do it, could anyone help me?

I'm having problems connecting the PSU cable which I think is the power source, my computer has no female plug to connect to. Could this be an issue of my computer being 3 pin vs 4 pin for the fan controller?

PSU fan (3 pin I think):

All the cables going out from fan controller:

The product itself: http://i.imgur.com/3mydA9E.jpg

Did I purchase the wrong product or what? What should I do now? Thanks!

See if you don't have this type of cable included with the kit otherwise you will need one to come off your PSU. I would check real close as most all OEM computers will have a molex for adding a extra hard drive or optical inside the case and free.

This has nothing to do with your fan controller. However, many Dell's have a custom CPU fan and if a non-Dell CPU fan is installed you will always get a "fan failure" at power on and have to press an F key (I forget which one) to continue with the boot. It will work OK, just you will get the fan failure notice.

So the power source for all of the 3 fans is the 4-pin? so I connect all of the fans cable directly to the fan controller and the one 4 pin connected to the PSU would be the power source alimenting all of the fans?

I had read something about some non-dell fans giving people a hard time but I had not gone far enough to experience that but since I am simply rerouting it to a fan controller I am not changing the CPU fan so I wouldn't get that error, no?

Yes that correct the 4 pin molex is what connects and powers all the fans via the fan controller then you plug each fan in to the controller and you're good to spin !

And what about the CPU part on the fan controller? The cable is both female type so how do I connect it and to what?

Reading just a little about this fan controller it says you must run the cpu fan off of it...(I don't like that one bit) but with that said it must tie the fan controller into the mobo fan controls and temps...one can hope. So please run the provided cable from the CPU mobo fan header only to the fan controller marked PWM input and then plug the CPU cooler into the fan controller marked CPU. You will need to read fully and see what kind of interface/software this deepcool controller provides so you can see how it's controlling the CPU temps. In the end this is really only a 2 fan controller + CPU.
