how to make a USB memory stick bootable?

This should be east. I asked a hardware group and they gave me this link

How To make Bootable USB

Unfortunately He is showing how to make a USB with windows 7 bootable.
What I want is to be able to put the equivelant of autorun.ini with
the name of the EXE. Not windows but my own software.

I am lost on his step 5 Any help on this please.

Ok thanks. From this I assume that on the first link I do not need to go past 16 and all that is needed
is an autorun.inf plus the exe.

The other guy mentioned after ASSIGN
BOOTSECT.EXE/NT60 H:

Is this not needed.
