How to permanently delete a service.

Is there any way to permantly delete a windows service and if so how do I do it?

Im looking to permantly remove windows defender and windows firewall from my OS.

(I know how to disable them but I want them GONE) :p thanks

Figured it out...


1. Run Regedit

2. Find the registry entry "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/SYSTEM/CurrentControlSet/Services"

3. Look for the service there and delete it. You can look at the keys to know what files the service was using and delete them as well (if necessary).

Yes why would u want to delete it if it's disabled anyway?I wouldn't do things like this too much,alot of stuff needs to be there even if it's not enabled otherwise the OS won't like it.
There are a few progs that make it easy if u have to do it.Process hacker is a good one i use and free.

Here's another way as well to delete a service.

Services - Delete - Vista Forums

It can be helpful if a program (Ex: antivirus) added the service, but didn't remove it after uninstalling the program and restarting the computer for some reason.
