How to reinstall windows 7 the easiest and quickest way...

Hi all, I was wondering what is the best way to reinstall my W7 computer. I know you have to get an iso from somewhere or make one, but how could I create one from my system files already? Also, when you reinstall W7, does it format it during reinstallation or do you have to go into the C: drive and press format? I need anyone who can help me with my troubles. Thanks in advance!

Did your Toshiba laptop come with a restore DVD or a Windows 7 installation DVD? If not, then there should be a restore partition that you can use, or a way to create a restore/install disc from within Windows. You need to read the documentation that came with your laptop (or visit the Toshiba support website) before you proceed. It sounds like you don't have a lot of experience installing operating systems, so read up and take your time so you learn everything you need.

@kegobeer Yeah I've got a user guide thing that I've read a little bit of. But because my laptop was preinstalled with it, I'm not sure what to do. When I brought it home I turned it on and it went through the simple process of installing, and it was BAM!!! and before I knew it, the laptop was ready to be used. If it came with a cd I'd know what to do. But I'll read the 'digital' manual and see if there's anything in there.

Toshiba will definitely have instructions on how to obtain or create a DVD, or how to use the built in restore partition.

Whatever you you do, don't go blindly in and format your C drive, you'll lose everything without a backup strategy in place.

Theog's advice is good so you should be fine if you follow it.

Easiest is to reinstall from the recovery partition. Here is how:

1. Make sure the computer is turned off.
2. Press and hold the 0 (zero) key on your keyboard while powering on the computer. When the computer powers on, the Toshiba Recovery Wizard screen displays.
3. Select one of the options, and then click Next. The options are: Recovery of Factory Default Software (recommended) or Erase the hard disk.

Make your Toshiba Recovery Disks first before running Factory Recovery from boot, so you have a backup method in case running the Recovery Partition fails.
