How to REMOVE Action Center icon when "No Issues Detected" ???

Dear All,

I have the "Action Center" flag icon always appear in the Windows 7 taskbar, even when there are "No current issues detected".

When I first installed Windows 7 it would only appear if there WERE issues detected, otherwise it would not display at all.

Now I don't know what happened, but it's just THERE constantly.

I know I can choose "Only Show Notifications" in the settings for it, but it's still actually there, only hidden.

The way it was before is that if no issues were detected it would not appear AT ALL.

Anyone know what's causing this/and more importantly how to fix this problem?

right click on any empty space on the taskbar
select properties
In the Notification area section of the properties window, click Customize...
Change the behavior of the Action Center icon to "Only Show Notifications"

That should do the trick

Run CCleaner and check the item; "Tray Notifications Cache" under "Advanced" options.

Now stop and then restart Explorer.

This clears the cache and resolves most problems.

Restarting windows is no use, you have to restart Explorer, ( which is the operating shell), for the repair to work.

Copy and paste the following into a new document:

@echo off
taskkill /f /IM explorer.exe
explorer.exe

Save your document with a descriptive name such as restart_explorer.bat. Make sure to save the file with the .bat extension and not .txt.


Remember to uncheck the item in CCleaner once you have finished.

Thanks Mike ---- i did the taskkill in cmd.exe and it worked fine. I didn't do the ccleaner. Not too sure what ccleaner cleans, so excuse me if i was paranoid of free things. but killing explorer and restarting it made the action center disappear just fine.

i know this was 2yrs ago but i have the exact problem down to every detail and was wondering if you resolved it and how i've done everything on here so far including doing what the action say but still there thanks.
