Sounds like the crack used was supposed to block windows updates...but they got a little carried away....
Get the ball rolling with Amazon.
.......last ditch option..........
If it will not let you run the recovery disc's....( be sure you set the BIOS to boot from cd)....Back up best you can...Go to the Windows folder and delete everything you can....muck up the registry...ect....cripple it...run recovery....
If that doesn't work try to borrow a Windows 7 home disk (any flavor) try to install...then run recovery.....
