Solved How to repair a file that is reported in the SFC /SCANNOW

Here is the report and what I did:

Now, I tried restoring the file in the WinSXS folder from the correct Ultimate image in the W7 image. I basically put the file back.
I also took ownership and permissions of the folder so that I can overwrite the files.
In the image, the version 6.1.7600.16385 does not exist.

In my attempt to resolve the nvlddmkm error, I deleted (stupidddd!) all nvlddmkm.sys files in the system, and left only the actual one made by the actual driver.

Now, my system is working fine. My GPU is working fine.
I'm just a bit anal to get the clean SFC report.

Any recommendations? Excep leave it and carry on...


EDIT: ARGH. Solved. Please delete. SFC wasn't for some reason creating new logfile. I had to delete it. Just noticed the timestamp. Now everything's fine!

As a future reference, the nvlddmkm.sys files are the Nvidia graphics drivers files that are initially stored in the Windows local driver repository that comes when you install Windows. These are not crucial kernel files for Windows, and you can easily find an update of them by going to the Nvidia or any appropriate website and downloading and installing an update of the drivers. Better yet, it's recommended you do so, since the local driver cache for Windows is old.

Thanks. I knew that. I also do have new driver installed.
Though the local driver cache is also checked while running sfc /scannow, and this file has been reported since I removed it manually. Now I only wanted to restore it. The version 296.10 is installed in windows\system32.

All right, I wasn't sure why exactly you were attempting to resolve this as it seemed a rather harmless issue. Thanks for the clarification. Glad to see it's been resolved. You may wanna mark the thread solved for future reference for others.
