how to resize pics

Hi all,
Can anybody help me in resizing jpg pictures I take with a digital camera and upload to my computer. I often want to e-mail some but each pic is between 700kb and up to 1.3mb in size so using hotmail or yahoo is out due to attachment size limits. File compression doesn't achieve much with jpeg's either. Is there a way to minimize the picture file size without compromising quality?

The easiest way for you is to use Paint. Just open your picture and choose resize. You can then reduce the size by percentage or pixals.

Or the old and trusted Irfanview is still one of the best and it handles batch (Do any number of images in one go) very well.

My favorite, by far, is the Microsoft Image Resizer Powertoy addition. It was only for XP, however, someone ported/cloned the code to do the exact same thing for Vista/Win 7.

This is what I use. You can't beat the integration into the Windows shell for easy selection of photos and a simple right click to resize them all.

I use that myself quite a bit, very handy.

Just an alternate suggestion. When I have a lot of pictures to send I load them upstream - usually on Photobucket or I put them into a .zip folder and load them to Skydrive. Then I only have to send the link from where the recipient can download the folder. That is a lot more expedient than having to resize a whole bunch.
